Tori Zielinski and Emma Parker selected ACWPC All-Americans

The Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC) announced their All-American teams for Women's Water Polo Monday with senior goalie Tori Zielinski (Sunnyvale, CA) and sophomore attacker Emma Parker (Yucaipa, CA) both receiving 2nd Team recognition.

2023 ACWPC Division III All-Americans

REDLANDS, Calif. - The Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC) announced their All-American teams for Women's Water Polo Monday with senior goalie Tori Zielinski (Sunnyvale, CA) and sophomore attacker Emma Parker (Yucaipa, CA) both receiving 2nd Team recognition. 

Zielinski has now landed on an All-American team for the second straight year after being named Honorable Mention in 2022 and Parker receives her first All-American nod of her career.

In her final season playing between the posts for the Maroon and Grey Zielinski collected the awards being named 1st Team All-SCIAC, the SCIAC Defensive Athlete of the Year, the SCIAC Defensive Athlete of the Week (4x) and now 2nd Team ACWPC All-American recognition.  She finished her senior season with a goal, three assists, 33 steals, 256 saves, a .525 save percentage, and allowed only 9.62 goals per game.

Her 256 saves are the eighth most in single-season program history, second most overall among SCIAC keepers, and seventh most across all divisions in the country. Her save percentage is also second among SCIAC goalkeepers, she averaged 10.7 saves per game, the most in SCIAC and the fourth most in the country.  Zielinski ends her career with the fourth most career saves with 552 and the seventh most steals as a goalkeeper with 60. 

Parker, who is in her second season with the Bulldogs earned 2nd Team All-SCIAC recognition after totaling a career-high 46 goals, 51 points, and 20 drawn exclusions. She was efficient too, scoring at a .430 rate, an improvement on 0.76 from her first-year season.

Her 46 goals are tied for the eighth most among SCIAC players. In SCIAC competition she scored 30 times, which was the second most, and had 33 points, eighth most. 

Redlands finished the year in 5th Place, a game out of clinching a spot in the SCIAC Tournament after going 7-17, 6-6 SCIAC.  The six conference victories were the most since 2019.  From March 15-April 10 the Bulldogs won six of eight contests beating La Verne, Caltech, Whittier, Occidental and Chapman.  Out of their 12 SCIAC match-ups the U of R held 11 of them to single digits.
