Redlands Athletics has 247 SCIAC All-Academic Team selections

REDLANDS, Calif. - The Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) recognized 247 University of Redlands student-athletes on its annual All-Academic list. Collectively, Bulldog student-athletes raised the bar for academic achievement as every team earned a minimum of a 3.0 GPA or higher.   

The SCIAC annually recognizes student-athletes who have been at their institution for at least one academic year and finished the school year with a 3.40 cumulative GPA or better. 

With 19 student-athletes earning the honor in dual sports, Redlands had 266 total selections to the SCIAC All-Academic Team - accounting for nearly half of the total student-athletes.

Every team finished the school year with a team GPA between a 3.10 and a 3.67 as the 473 Bulldog student-athletes combined for a 3.05 department GPA in 2022-23.

The Women's Swimming & Diving team led the department with a 3.67 GPA followed by Women's Cross-Country with a 3.62.  Five teams posted cumulative GPA's between a 3.50 and a 3.60, which included Women's Tennis (3.57), Women's Soccer (3.56), Women's Lacrosse (3.55), Women's Basketball (3.52), and Women's Water Polo (3.51).     

Men's Swimming & Diving added a 3.43 and another seven had GPA's between a 3.30 and a 3.40, including Men's Water Polo (3.39), Women's Track & Field (3.37), Men's Tennis (3.35), Men's Soccer (3.32), Softball (3.32), Men's Golf (3.31), and Women's Golf (3.31). 

In addition, Tom Jansen (Pleasant Hill, CA) and Hannah Jugar (Chula Vista, CA) represented the University of Redlands being tabbed SCIAC Scholar-Athletes.
